Hello!
Welcome!
Got a loom for a great price on Marketplace! Now what? Found a loom for a great price at the antique store! Now what? Inherited a loom! Now what? Can’t remember everything you learned at the workshop! Now what?
Now it is time to find a teacher!
Michelle Follett Teachings, LLC is a modern-day traveling resource for weavers. Michelle focuses on teaching engagements with weavers in locations not readily serviced by thriving weaving guilds or brick-and-mortar weaving stores.
Sometimes it is challenging to find a physical location for learning and support; the following resources are provided to help:
- Handweavers Guild of America; Affiliate Guilds Directory
- MidAtlantic Fiber Association; Interactive Map of Fiber Arts
- Heddlecraft; Learn to Weave Interactive Map
Sometimes learning does not have to be in person; the following resources are provided to help:
- Multi-Shaft Weaving: Jane Stafford
- Tapestry Weaving: Rebecca Mezoff
Sometimes, though, a weaver needs someone there, at their loom, to be taught the way they need to learn. That’s where Michelle Follett Teachings, LLC comes in: to teach where other teachers won’t. Michelle currently teaches weaving one-on-one through weaver-initiated engagements; through hosted workshops; and via her virtual Help Desk (check here for upcoming hosted workshops or here for her virtual Hand Weavers’ Help Desk*). Stay tuned to this page for additional learning opportunities.
