No weaving experience is needed to learn the essential techniques of weaving. During this class with Michelle Follett, you will experience the entire process of weaving on a multi-shaft floor, starting with learning basic weaving terminology. Following an introduction discussion to color and balance, you will then design your textile - learning to calculate your fiber needs in the process - and then be guided through dressing and weaving on a floor loom. Beyond-beginners wanting a skill refresher will benefit, too. Students begin by attending an all-day class, and then continue learning during studio time, committing at least two hours each week for up to 7 additional weeks, to accommodate busy schedules and varying learning styles. All inclusive fee of $175.00 per participant covers equipment, accessories and fibers, and a maximum of 6 participants enables an instructor-attentive experience for new learners.
